Reflections on Shabat, 29th March 2024

At this point there is no turning back *), but everything that a person has had the opportunity to do in his life has either been done or left undone.

*) Still, there is a very small but real chance that some graced believer will raise the already dead from the dead, but that happens very rarely. I have read that a Finnish missionary, Toimi Yrjölä, brought the dead back to life in three different cases while working in South Asia.

However, Adonai Yeshua gave his chosen disciples a command for that too: Matt. 10:8
>>Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You have received as a gift, give as a gift!<<

A memory from almost 10 years ago

I once arrived in TYKS (Turku University Central Hospital) in the car of a believing brother to the bedside of another dying believing man. In the car, I said in my heart to Adonai Yeshua that if he is already dead, then only in that case will I raise him from the dead if I see in the vision that you will do it before **). He had died just 1 min before we got there.

I watched in the Spirit to see if I could see Adonai Yeshua raising him from the dead in a vision. I didn't see such a revelation, so I just read some words of comfort from the Bible to his children who were there, and at the request of the hospital chaplain, I agreed to handle all the funeral speeches and the ceremony at the man's funeral, because he had already left the ev.lut. church years ago.

**) John 5:19  >>
So Yeshua answered them, "I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise."<<

Life is the greatest of earthly gifts

Still, few know how to give it enough value and thank their Creator, from whom they have received it as a gift. Generally, only believers in Adonai Yeshua realize the true value of their earthly life compared to eternal life and strive to live accordingly.

We are called to abandon all our own wishes, dreams, plans and preferences, and to follow Adonai Yeshua, the giver of our earthly and eternal life. It is important to realize that this world is only a temporary transit place for us. Yeshua taught in Luke 9:23-26

>>
23 Then he said to them all, "If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

25 For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself? 26 For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.<<

This world is also like a greenhouse where we humans are seedlings planted by our Creator. In one spiritual song it is said: "I am a seedling in your garden and created for heaven. In your gracious protection from my birth I was favored." He is always watching us from above from his holy abode. Psalm 33:13-15
>>13 The YHWH watches from heaven; he sees all people. 14 From the place where he lives he looks carefully at all the earth's inhabitants. 15 He is the one who forms every human heart, and takes note of all their actions.<<

The reason our Creator is watching us is not just because he is curious, but because he is testing us to see if we are worthy to receive eternal life as well. Luke 20:35
>>
But those who are regarded as worthy to share in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.<<

Our creator could feed, clothe and heal all the people in the world in an instant and if he wanted to move all the people to a much bigger and better planet than planet earth! But he tests us as individuals to see which of us love our fellow sufferers and he makes a choice based on that. That is, the choice of which of us he allows to pass into the glory of heaven. The rest of us he transfers to perdition out of his sight.

He also gives food and life to billions of spirit beings. We find the reason for humanity's depraved state in the story of the Fall in Paradise.

Eternal life is the most precious gift

Since the giver of it is also our Creator, how grateful we should be to him and always strive to please him! This is what he says about it in Ps. 50:23
>>Whoever offers thanks glorifies Me; and he who prepares a way, I will show the salvation of Elohim to him.<< The word 'salvation' in the verse refers to our Savior, because his Hebrew name 'Yeshua' means 'Salvation'.

How should we thank our Creator?

Adonai Yeshua taught the Samaritan woman at the Sykar well: John 4:21-24

>>
21 Yeshua said to her, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You people worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.

23 But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers. 24 Elohim is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
<<

Conditions for receiving eternal life

The absolute condition is to believe that our heavenly Father gave his own beloved, only-begotten Son as a sin offering and atonement to suffer and die sinless on the cross of Calvary as a vicarious sacrifice for our sins, and that he raised his Son from the dead on the 3rd day after the crucifixion.

When we believe in that, we must confess our sins, repent in our lives and go to the baptism of believers by immersing in water in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach for the forgiveness of our sins. This is what Adonai Yeshua taught saying: Mark 16:16
>>
The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.<<

The following act mentioned in the Tanakh too is also necessary for our salvation: Romans 10:9-10
>>
9 because if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Adonai and believe in your heart that Elohim raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.<<

Reflections on Shabat, 22nd March 2024

The diagram in the picture shows the existence of three eternally living powers and persons in a timeline. It shows that our heavenly Father YHWH Elohim has always existed and will always exist. He is the Majesty above all and eternally ruling over all.
(The given amounts of time are indicative only, as are the years.)

The Holy Spirit has existed from eternity with the Majesty and now for some time sent by him all over the world. He is currently here as the deputy of our Savior Adonai Yeshua and will always be in the service of our heavenly Father. Especially for the last 2000 years or so, he has been our help on earth.

Our savior Yeshua HaMashiach has not always existed, but at some point in antiquity he came to be by the will of our heavenly Father and stayed with him even before the beginning of time and eras. After being born as a human and dying for us, he lives forever and is the eternal king of us who believe in him! He received all power in heaven and on earth after defeating the powers of death.

Mentions of Adonai Yeshua

Here are few verses from his high priestly prayer to his Father in John 17.

- Now this is eternal life - that they know you, the only true Elohim, and Yeshua HaMashiach, whom you sent. (Verse 3)

- I glorified you on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. (Verse 4)

- And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created. (Verse 5)

- I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word. (Verse 6)

- 9 I am praying on behalf of them. I am not praying on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those you have given me, because they belong to you. 10 Everything I have belongs to you, and everything you have belongs to me, and I have been glorified by them. (Verses 9-10)

- 17 Set them apart in the truth; your word is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. 19 And I set myself apart on their behalf, so that they too may be truly set apart. (Verses 17-19)

- 20 "I am not praying only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their testimony, 21 that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me. (Verses 20-21)

- 22 The glory you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one - 23 I in them and you in me - that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me. (Verses 22-23)
)

What specifically does that say about Yeshua?

- He came to us as sent by Father Elohim, to help and save us.
- Knowing the Father as the only true Elohim is a condition for receiving eternal life, as well as knowing Adonai Yeshua as our own Savior.
- Yeshua received glory from the Father (at some point before the beginning of the time of the world)
- The unity and connection that he has with his Father should also be with us, with him and with each other. As Yeshua maintains a personality, so must we maintain the unique personality that we each possess.

Did Yeshua always has had eternal life?

No he has not, for he has not existed forever. He himself says that he received eternal life from his Father in John 5:26. He got it because of his obedience to the Father..
- For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself.

The Son, on the other hand, has promised to give eternal life by his Father's will to all those who believe that the Father has sent him and are obedient to the Son John 10:27-28.
- 27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand.

Who is Lilith?

There is a direct reference to her in the Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 34.14 (CJB)
"Wildcats and hyenas will meet there; and billy-coats call to each other; Lilit (the night monster) will lurk there and find herself *) a place to rest." *) obs. feminine form

Also, I see several indirect references to her and I'll share them under the heading 'My View of Lilith'. Before that, however, I will tell you some of the old assumptions made about what Lilith could mean:

Lilith (/ˈlɪlɪθ/; Hebrew: לִילִית, romanized: Liliṯ), also spelt Lilit, Lilitu, or Lilis, is a female figure in Mesopotamian and Jewish mythology, theorized to be the first wife of Adam[1] and supposedly the primordial she-demon. Lilith is cited as having been "banished"[2] from the Garden of Eden for not complying with and obeying Adam.[2] She was Adam's first wife, who was created from clay, like Adam himself. She did not submit to the authority of Adam, but mated with the archangel Samael. According to legend, she left paradise and was cursed.

- Lilith is a dangerous nocturnal demon who is sexually unrestrained and preys on babies in the dark. She is referred to, for example, in the verse Isa. 34.14. There it is in the middle of the list of eight unclean animals. The adjective "night sorceress" is attached to the name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilith

My view of Lilith

- She is the most powerful spirit power of darkness that wars against YHWH Elohim.
- She appeared on the timeline of history even before the creation of the world, as did Adonai Yeshua, because she is already referred to metaphorically in Genesis 1:2-4. In them she appears as 'Darkness'. It is implied that she is evil. It can be seen that her opposite 'Light' is good. (Genesis 1:4). The light is Adonai Yeshua.
- She has feminist and masculine qualities. She always seeks to seduce and dominate. The same spiritual power advances with force today in the so-called in democratic states and the result is an ever-deepening moral decay!

- She organized an attempted revolution against her Creator long before the creation of the world and the space of heaven. She acts as the 'Leader of the Spirit Powers of Evil' in the heavenly spaces. She was as a Serpent in Paradise, from which she was expelled together with our ancestors, whom she succeeded in causing to sin.
- The description of the king of Tire 'perfect in beauty' fits her, as does her destiny (Ezek. 28:12).
- I find a reference to her also in the case of Queen Vasti. She was extremely beautiful and lovely in appearance, but refused to obey King Ahasuerus and was thrown out of her royal position. Esther 1:9-21.

- She hates all beings, even herself, because if she really loved herself, she wouldn't have acted in such a way that she ends up in hell!

Reflections on Shabat, 15th March 2024

This is the last part of the topic "Fruits of the Spirit" and what could be a more appropriate topic when thinking about the life of sanctification. All the fruits of the Spirit listed in Gal 5:22-23 together lead us to sanctification, that is, to be separated from the polluting influence of this world so completely that we are ultimately led to eternal life.

What is sanctification according to the Bible?

It means a complete separation from the influence of the spirit of this world, so that our thoughts, words and actions are voluntarily submitted to the teachings of the New Covenant. They are teached for us by the personal Holy Spirit who lives in us, who is also called the Spirit of HaMashiach and the Spirit of Elohim. This requires that we have been able to experience a genuine spiritual 'born-again' after coming to faith.

I emphasize the words 'genuine spiritual born-again' because the Devil is good at imitating Adonai Yeshua in many ways. He has even become an angel of light in these last days before the return of our Savior. A truly born-again person sees the Devil's deception in such a way that 'where the Spirit of Adonai Yeshua is, there is freedom'. The Devil cannot imitate that freedom.

Another clear sign and difference between them is that only Adonai Yeshua gives peace to our hearts and the third clear difference is that the love of Yehowah Elohim is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, if He is given to us.

So there are two different spiritual powers in the world. The spirit prince of darkness, the Devil with his slaves, and the spirit prince of Light, or Adonai Yeshua HaMashiach, with his disciples. We must choose daily which of them we want to serve. Each of them seeks to make us their own and to do his will.

Our daily choice should be made correctly! It is fatally important because whoever we get used to serving, we are his slaves, i.e. he will be our master and we will be his subordinates! If we get used to living as the spirit prince of this world, according to the Devil's will, then on Judgment Day he will take us with him to Hell forever, because we have voluntarily agreed to be his slaves by our actions and choices!

If, instead, we strive and sanctify ourselves in our thoughts, words and deeds, then, as the attached picture shows, we will eventually receive eternal life and live all eternity in the indescribably wonderful Kingdom ruled by Adonai Yeshua, where there is no sickness, death, hunger or thirst. Everything there is perfect and we get a perfect and immortal glorified body there.

Why must our choice be absolute?

As Adonai Yeshua teaches in his Sermon on the Mount, we cannot serve two Lords: We cannot serve Elohim and Mammon. The prince of this world, the Devil, leads and often even forces people to pursue power, wealth and glory, with the help of his lies, saying that otherwise they will starve, become exhausted and starve to death.

Adonai Yeshua still teaches saying: Luke 9:23-25 >>" 23 And He said to all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily. And let him follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life, he will lose it. But whoever loses his life for My sake, this one will save it. 25 For what is a man profited gaining the whole world but destroying himself or suffering loss?"<<

He teaches even like this: John 8:34 >>
Yeshua answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin.<<

Apostle Paul teaches this way: Romans 6:16 >>
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness?<<

In the beginning of the life of faith, it is easy to be obedient to our Savior when we experience his daily presence and his supernatural protection and guidance through the Holy Spirit, just like newborn children. Over time, he expects us to think and act independently and obediently, and to grow in knowing him to spiritual maturity. Of course, he still protects us every day and prayers to our heavenly Father to help us as needed.

Is the consecrated life too difficult for you?

It's even impossible if we strive for it Only with our own help and strength! Our own part in our life of sanctification is to repent and turn to Adonai Yeshua if necessary, even daily. Our Father Yehowah Elohim has made him to our Sanctificier, who sanctify us.

He is our Savior and our incomparable help also in our life of sanctification. He loves us, lifting, carrying and saving. Therefore, let us always take our weaknesses and shortcomings to Adonai Yeshua with prayers and leave them to him! He will surely help us! He lives forever and always prays for us!

These fruits are also from the Holy Spirit

>>For the fruits of the light are in all goodness and righteousness and truth.<< (Eph. 5:9 according to the Peshitta)

>>And the fruits of righteousness are sown in silence by those who make peace.<< (James 3:18 according to the Peshitta)

Reflections on Shabat, 8th March 2024

We see a photo of a typical lunch: fried fish, vegetables and a drink.

That is, a fairly standard lunch in Western countries. In the evenings we eat dinner and on weekends we have delicious starters, mains and desserts with drinks. In addition to those, there are also various snack delicacies. When I lived in Sweden, I calculate that there are eaten seven (7) times every day, if you include all the snacks! Oh, what delicacies for the stomach! Outright belly worship! In the NT it is written: "...The belly is their god..." Philipp. 3:19

But think that people in many poor countries can only dream of these foods! They often lack even clean water. Among them are also several believers of the New Covenant. Think about what you can do for their lack! Let us remember Adonai Yeshua's exhortation: Matt. 7:12

>>Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.<<

One of the biggest sins of Western nations is overeating. That's why we should exercise self-control also regarding what and how much we eat and what we drink. We have to settle for smaller portions and cheaper foods and drinks so that we can use the saved money to support our starving neighbors in many poor countries and disaster areas.

If we do that, we will be better off, we will be spared from obesity and numerous standard of living diseases, which nowadays plague and kill the inhabitants of Western countries far too young. At the same time, we also feel good when we help our neighbors, and it does not happen to us like that rich and glorious man who (perhaps?) still suffers great pain in the Underworld when the flames burn him. Luke 16:19-31.

Where else do we need self-control?

We need it in quite a lot of things and situations, such as:

- When we get into trouble at work
- When we encounter annoying people
- If we are fascinated by the power to get rich

- As the lust for power seeks our soul
- That we don't think too much of ourselves
- When we are treated wrong on purpose
- When we get teased

- If
filthy sexual desires strive for power
- While chatting on social media channels
- When we fail at something

The list could be continued much longer. Our Creator leads us into many kinds of temptations, where lusts are easily ignited in us, to restrain which we need self-control.

How do we learn more self-control?

A proverb says: A wise man learns from the mistakes of others, a normal person learns from his own mistakes, but a fool does not even learn from his own mistakes, but repeats them over and over again. Therefore, we should seek wisdom and prayerfully ask for it from our heavenly Father, who has promised to give it to us.

A good advice is to prepare for each new day by praying in the Holy Spirit and asking for a humble disciple's mind. If temptation or lust still manages to surprise us, then it's worth stopping immediately, turning with all your heart and mind to Adonai Yeshua, asking him for wisdom and self-control.

An old piece of advice for parents when one of their children is really misbehaving is: slowly count to ten in your mind. Then too much anger has time to subside and thoughts calm down, so that the child can be held in a spirit of love and meekness. The same advice applies well to many other situations where it is wise to exercise self-control, such as with friends, in work and study situations, and on social media.

The advice: 'Practice makes perfect' also applies here.

P.S. This ninth fruit of the Spirit is the last in this passage in Galatians, but the NT also tells of one very important fruit of the Spirit. I will do a Shabat study on it next week.

Reflections on Shabat, 1st March 2024

In the picture we see an artist's painting of how the meek Moabite Ruth and the Jew Boaz perhaps looked in Bethlehem. They both were very meek and from their descendants in the third generation King David was born to Israel.

Meekness is the eighth fruit of the Spirit and far too underrated among believers! Nowadays, very expensive 'Leadership courses' are constantly organized for believers in Western countries, but never free 'Humble Servant courses' or 'Slave courses'.
- - -
I remind the reader that Adonai Yeshua taught his disciples like this: "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.". Mark 10:45

This is also how Adonai Yeshua taught his disciples: "26 It must not be this way among you! Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave -". Matt. 20:26-27
- - -
Moses was very meek, even more humble than any other person of his time on earth. It is interesting that Adonai Yeshua said he is quiet and meek in heart. Matt. 11:26

We also notice that the Canaanite woman had similar meekness. As a result, Adonai Yeshua healed her possessed daughter, even though Yeshua was not sent to the Gentiles, but only to search for the lost sheep (i.e. sinners) of the tribe of Israel.

He did send his disciples to spread the Good News to all nations starting from Jerusalem as soon as they had received the power of the Holy Spirit. That they received based on Yeshua's victory over sin and death through his death on the cross of Calvary and after his resurrection and when he had received all authority in heaven and on earth!

What means meekness in verse Gal. 5:23?

The Greek word "praotés" (fem.) used in the verse means the following:
- gentleness
- mercy
- meekness
- silence

I chose the word "meekness", which I think is often synonymous with "gentleness".

We cannot be entrusted with demanding spiritual tasks unless we have learned meekness. Moses and Yeshua are good examples of this. Without meekness, we would not be able to succeed in demanding and difficult tasks.

How can we become meek?

According to the NT, by studying and adopting humility from the life and teachings of Adonai Yeshua. The Holy Spirit molds our souls through the Word of Yeshua within us, bringing us into many difficult situations where we find that humility is the only wise way to solve them and come out victorious.

Why is meekness so hard to embrace?

Western education and working life strives to constantly shape us to be better than each other. It is a competitive situation right from early studies. Therefore, believers in Adonai Yeshua must undergo retraining to embrace godly meekness and humbleness. It is very difficult, especially for those of us who do well in our studies and work life. Fortunately, it is possible for me and you, if only we aim for it!
