Reflections on Shabat, 30th August 2024

Our Creator wants to mark us as his property and told us about it
to his chosen people Israel in several different contexts as an example
of what he will do during the coming New Covenant to all who he has
chosen for salvation from all the nations and languages of the earth.
The treacherous Devil also wants to mark people as his property.

What signs are referred to in the Bible?

We find there such signs that are referred to in the attached picture. The sun, moon and stars were also created to be signs in the firmament to indicate days, times and years. Since humanity lost in the Fall the direct connection to communicate with its Creator, our Creator decided to lead and guide us with the help of several different signs. The Bible consists of letters, which are also signs, and the Holy Spirit of our Creator works through them.

At the time of the prophet Ezekiel, the inhabitants of Jerusalem had sunk deep into sin: Ezek. 9:4-6
>>4 Yehowah said to him, "Go through the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of the people who moan and groan over all the abominations practiced in it." 5 While I listened, he said to the others, "Go through the city after him and strike people down; do no let your eye pity nor spare anyone!
6 Old men, young men, young women, little children, and women - wipe them out! But do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary!" So they began with the elders who were at the front of the temple.<<  All those sinners who were not marked on the forehead were killed without mercy!

Our Creator especially emphasizes the decrees He enacted for Israel as a sign of the Covenant between Him and Israel. The law consists of the law given through Moses at Sinai, i.e. ten words of instruction, which include the first four points about the relationship with him and six points about the relationship with the neighbors. Emphasis is on keeping Shabat and circumcising baby boys, i.e. cutting off the foreskin. They were exemplary like the law of Moses, which was engraved on two stone tablets. The Law established at Sinai enslaved Israel to serve Yehowah!

From the teachings of the New Covenant, we know that the observance of the Sabbath belongs to all believers in Adonai Yeshua, and it is the weekly Sabbath prescribed for the Jews, starting at sunset on Friday evening and ending at sunset on Saturday evening. As for the circumcision made in the flesh, in the New Covenant it corresponds to 'circumcision of the foreskin of the heart', i.e. the removal of the stony heart, so that the new muscular heart can gain control. In the New Covenant, the Law is written on human hearts. The Law established at Calvary freed us from dead works to love the Creator and people!!

The prophet Jeremiah prophesied several times about the coming New Covenant: Jer. 31:33
>>"But I will make a new covenant with the whole nation of Israel after I plant them back in the land," says Yehowah. "I will put my law within them and write it on their hearts and minds. I will be their Elohim and they will be my people."<<

Yeshua HaMashiach established the New Covenant the day before he was crucified: Luke 22:18-20
>>18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of Elohim comes." 19 Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." 20 And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.<<

A warning against being in awe by the signs of heaven

In the Tanakh, Israel is warned not to be in awe like the pagans at the signs of heaven: Jer. 10:2
>>Yehowah says, "Do not start following pagan religious practices. Do not be in awe of signs that occur in the sky even though the nations hold them in awe.<<
We are told to be encouraged when we see signs of the end times: Luke 21:26-28
>>26 People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."<<
The sign of Jonah was the only sign that Adonai Yeshua gave to his contemporaries:
Matt. 12:39-40
>>39 But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.<<

What will be the sign of the Son of Man's return?

Abraham was born in 1948 after the creation of Adam and Israel became independent in 1948. So exactly 4000 years are left in between, if we assume that exactly 4000 years passed from the creation of Adam to the birth of our Savior. The star of Bethlehem was then the sign of the Son of Man in the eastern sky and it may be a sign again just before his return(?) That's why astronomy is interesting!

Could Betelgeuse be that star as sign for us?

Finnish Science magazine article, 6 January 2020

The night before yesterday, in many astronomical observatories, pre-made observation plans were thrown aside and telescopes and antennas were directed in the direction of the Orion constellation. The red giant star Betelgeuse is dragging its last …

The first part of the name of the second brightest star in the Orion constellation 'Betel-' (as in form 'Bethel') would be a Hebrew in meaning 'House of El', which may refer to the sign of the coming of the Son of Man, because if the giant star's explosion will be seen in this generation, it will be the brightest supernova in the history of mankind, which can be seen brighter than the full moon even during the day even for about 3 years!

I repeat: If that giant star's explosion will be seen in this generation, the result is likely to be the brightest celestial phenomenon mankind has ever seen!

The Orion constellation is also special because it has seven stars brighter than its other stars, it resembles an hourglass - i.e. the clock of time - and in its center there are three bright stars in a straight line, which may refer prophetically to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit(?) Read more about that bright star:

The chosen of El'Elyon are marked on the forehead

As in the above-mentioned passage (Ezek. 9:4-6), also during the New Covenant the elect will be marked on the forehead so that they will be known to be spared from the evil that will befall mankind: Rev. 7:2-4
>>2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, who had the seal of the living Elohim. He shouted out with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given permission to damage the earth and the sea: 3 "Do not damage the earth or the sea or the trees until we have put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our Elohim." 4 Now I heard the number of those who were marked with the seal, one hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed from all the tribes of the people of Israel:<<

We are living in the era of the New Covenant, when the servants of Elohim are sealed, that is, they are marked on the forehead, so that they are known to be protected from the plagues and punishments that befall people. It is the seal of the Holy Spirit: Eph. 1:13-14
>>13 And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) - when you believed in HaMashiach - you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of Elohim's own possession, to the praise of his glory.<<

The Devil also marks his own

We notice in the Book of Revelation how terrible time will come on earth just before our Savior's return to earth! Then the Devil will take over all the nations and the inhabitants of the earth, but even then the chosen ones of the Most High will be protected: Rev. 13:8...18
>>8 and all those who live on the earth will worship the (first) beast, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed... 13 He (the second beast) performed momentous signs, even making fire come down from heaven in front of people

14 and, by the signs he (the second beast) was permitted to perform on behalf of the (first) beast, he deceived those who live on the earth. He told those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who had been wounded by the sword, but still lived. 15 The second beast was empowered to give life to the image of the first beast so that it could speak, and could cause all those who did not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

16 He also caused everyone (small and great, rich and poor, free and slave ) to obtain a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. 17 Thus no one was allowed to buy or sell things unless he bore the mark of the beast - that is, his name or his number. 18 This calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the beast's number, for it is man's number, and his number is 666.
<<

My opinion is that the image of the first beast is TV (television). Please, read the following:
https://tv-is-the-image-of-the-beast.blogspot.com/

I believe that the chosen saints of the Most High, who are the so-called "wise virgins" have already been taken to safety before that, to Adonai Yeshua in the upper air, as it is written in 1 Thess. 4:16-18
>>16 For Adonai himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in HaMashiach will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet Adonai in the air. And so we will always be with the Adonai. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.<<

Reflections on Shabat, 23rd August 2024

There are several descriptions of two brothers in the Bible and also of two
sister's descriptions of why their Creator chose another one of them.
It has always been a choice based on grace of Adonai and not on merit.
We notice it especially in the accurate story of Jacob and Esau.

Isaac chose Esau, but Rebecca and Adonai chose Jacob!

It is worth noting that the wife was right in this point as well and her husband Isaak was wrong. The same happened with Sarah, Ishmael and Isaac, because Abraham resented Sarah's request to drive Ishmael and Hagar away from them. Adonai therefore told Abraham to listen to Sarah in everything. Only Isaac was the promised heir!

Sarah remembered Adonai's promise to Abraham that only Isaac would be their heir. In the same way, Rebecca must have remembered the promise she received at birth that Esau the older, of her twins must serve Jacob the younger! Here we see that there was a good reason that our Creator created a wife to man's help.

What kind of blessing did Esau really receive?

In this regard, the English, Lamsa Peshitta translation and Finnish translations differ a lot from each other. That's why it's good to look at them separately and think about which of them might be the most correct and original? So it is about the verses Gen. 27:38-40

A) KJV (1982)
38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. 39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him,

Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; [(the fatness) : or, of the fatness] 40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

B) CJB (1998)
38 Esau said to his father, "Have you only one blessing, my father? Father, bless me too!" 'Esau wept aloud. 39 and Yitz'hack his father answered him:

"Here! Your home will be of the richness of the earth and of the dew of heaven from above. 40 You will live by your sword, and you will serve your brother. But when you break loose, you will shake his yoke off your neck."

C)
NET (2001)
38 Esau said to his father, "Do you have only that one blessing, my father? Bless me too!" Then Esau wept loudly. 39 So his father Isaac said to him,

"Indeed, your home will be away from the richness of the earth, and away from the dew of the sky above. 40 You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck."

D) Peshitta (George M. Lamsa, 22nd ed. 1981)
38 And Esau said to his father, Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. 39 And Isaac his father answered and said to him,

Bebold, your dwelling shall be in the fertile places of the earth, and the dew of heaven shall fall upon you from above; 40 And by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but if you shall repent, his yoke shall pass away from off your neck.

E) RK2012 (Finnish Bible 2012)
38 Esau said to his father: "Do you have only one blessing, my father? Father, bless me too!" And Esau began to weep loudly. 39 His father Isaac answered:

"Without the abundance of the earth is your abode, without the dew of heaven. 40 You live by your sword and serve your brother. But wandering loosely, you break his yoke from your neck."

The reader will notice that the Peshitta translation is significantly different from the other highlighted translations due to its more 'merciful' blessing. Since our Elohim is merciful, I think it is justified that he gave Esau the opportunity to repent as a condition for his descendants to be freed from the dominion of his brother Jacob's descendants. However, the Tanakh says that Esau's descendants, i.e. the Edomites, did not repent, but constantly held hatred towards their brother Jacob's descendants, i.e. the Israelites.

That is why Edom was finally destroyed as a nation, as shown in the attached image text. Because of their continued hatred of Israel, the old promise given to Abram and his descendants, Isaac, Jacob and his descendants Israel, that all who bless them shall be blessed and those who curse them shall be cursed: 1. Moos. 12:1-3
>>1 Now Adonai had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.<<

This true story is a very serious warning also to all Gentile nations about how they treat Israel and the Israelites. So it is a choice between a blessing and a curse. Only the wise bless Israel and the Israelites and based on that they receive a blessing from Adonai!

Why was Adonai pleased with Jacob?

Humanly speaking, Jacob was greedy and betrayed his brother Esau twice. He first bought the birthright from him with brown lentil soup, and then, at his mother's request, fraudulently usurped from Esau the blessing that belongs to the firstborn, against his Father's will, even at the risk of a curse and losing his life. Jacob wanted that his descendants would be blessed.

That is why Jacob's betrayals were pleasing to Adonai. Jacob valued Adonai's promises and pursued them at any cost. He was actually selfless, although he is thought to be selfish. Esau, on the other hand - after selling his birthright for lentil soup - considered it cheap to receive the blessing of his ancestors as the firstborn for his descendants. He realized his mistake too late.

Adonai also taught Jacob, chastising him severely for his greed so that he had to serve as a slave to his relative Laban for 14 years to get his daughters as wives and another 6 years to get his own herd of cattle. It was all behind hard work, pain and sweat, and besides, Laaban cheated him by changing his salary 10 times! That's how Jacob learned what it feels like to be betrayed!

The case of Esau is an important lesson for us that we take good care of our descendants and leave for them as a legacy, especially true faith in Adonai! Let's not be like Esau, who didn't care about his descendants, he thought more about his own welfare. The biggest mistake he made was that he underestimated his birthright and the future of his descendants.

Esau lost his firsborn's blessing to Jacob, when he changed his rigth as firstborn to the lentil soup. That's why the birthright and blessing were already legally Jacob's, even though Isaac thought otherwise. Even today, many parents ruining the future of their offspring by preventing them from seeking the truth and denying them and their descendants the chance to be saved.

Do you want to gain Adonai's favor?

You achieve it through obedience to faith by obeying the teachings of Adonai Yeshua, which you find in the NT and especially in the chapters of the Sermon on the Mount, Matt. 5, 6 and 7. As Esau sold his birthright and also lost his birthright blessing, so will happen to us too, if we do not care about the gospel that is proclaimed to us! Only those who hear it and obey it are blessed!

It is extremely important to verify the teachings of our Savior HaMashiach Yeshua and the NT, in Mark 16:15-16 - John 3:36 - John 17:3 - Acts 2:38-39 - Rom. 10:9-10 - Hebr. 10:14-17

Mark 16:15-16 >>15 And he (Yeshua) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.<<

John 3:36 >>
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but Elohim's wrath remains on him.<<

John 17:3 >>
Now this is eternal life - that they know you, the only true Elohim, and Yeshua HaMashiach, whom you sent.<<

Acts 2:38-39 >>
38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far away, as many as Adonai our Elohim will call to himself."<<

Rom. 10:9-10 >>
9 because if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Adonai and believe in your heart that Elohim raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.<<

Hebr. 10:14-17 >>
14 For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy. 15 And the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us, for after saying, 16 "This is the covenant that I will establish with them after those days, says Adonai. I will put my laws on their hearts and I will inscribe them on their minds," 17 then he says, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no longer."<<

Let us especially remember the following teaching of Yeshua!

Mark 12:28-31 Regarding the greatest commandments

>>28 Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Yeshua answered them well, he asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?"

29 Yeshua answered, "The most important is: 'Listen, Israel, Yehowah our Elohim, Yehowah is one. 30 Love Yehowah your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' 31 The second is: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."<<

Reflections on Shabat, 16th August 2024

The more current astrophysicists (studies of the stars and space)
explore the stars, planets and space, the more clearly they state
how our unique habitable planet is and how beautiful it is in space!
According to the Bible, it is on its way to total destruction because of the Fall.

Is the earth unique in the eyes of the Creator?

It appears from the Bible that the creation of the earth and everything was a very pleasant activity for him and he expected everything to be successful, because he had carefully planned everything related to it. All creation succeeded brilliantly, because before this he had already created the heavens and the heavens of heavens with their huge angelic hosts. We see a glimpse from the book of Job, how the creatures created by our Creator even before the creation of the earth watched the creation of the earth: Job 38:4-7

>>4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you possess understanding! 5 Who set its measurements - if you know - or who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 On what were its bases set, or who laid its cornerstone - 7 when the Morning Stars sang in chorus, and all the Sons of Elohim shouted for joy?<<

In verse 7, the Morning Stars mean high-ranking angelic princes (cherubim and seraphim) and the Sons of Elohim are those, some of whom had been led astray by the cherub Lucifer*) into rebellion against their Creator even before the creation of the earth. Because they had the ability to also take on a body of flesh and blood, i.e. a human-like form, they were able to marry the daughters of Adam and Eve (Genesis 6:2-4), who bore them offspring before the flood and also after it.

*) It seems that the cherub Lucifer was one of the Sons of Elohim, for he is mentioned to have twice attended a meeting in heaven where Elohim and his Sons were present. Job 1:6 and 2:1. If Lucifer was a highly respected spirit being before his rebellion, even the Son of Elohim, then it is easy to understand why Elohim was so patient and long-suffering towards him. He perhaps hoped that he would repent and return 'like a renegade boy' to him begging for mercy and forgiveness(?)

Was Absalom's fate also a parable of Lucifer?

Absalom was the most handsome of King David's many sons and he conspired against his father to dethrone him. He was very cunning in the way he got the majority of the men of Israel to his side. From the Bible we know how much David loved his son Absalom despite all his wickedness. He wept bitterly when he heard that Joab, his general, had killed Absalom in the battle in the forest of Ephraim.

I think it describes well how much Elohim loved his creation Lucifer. He tells us what kind of creation this was in the beginning. Hez. 28:12-16 (Here he is compared to the king of Tyre)

>>12 "Son of man, sing a lament for the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'This is what the Sovereign Yehowah says:"'You were the sealer of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 You were in Eden, the garden of Elohim. Every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, topaz, and emerald, the chrysolite, onyx, and jasper, the sapphire, turquoise, and beryl; your settings and mounts were made of gold. On the day you were created they were prepared.

14 I placed you there with an anointed guardian Cherub; you were on the holy mountain of Elohim; you walked about amidst fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your behavior from the day you were created, until sin was discovered in you.

16 In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned; so I defiled you and banished you from the mountain of Elohim - the guardian Cherub expelled you from the midst of the stones of fire.
<<

The characteristics of verse 12 perfectly fit Absalom as well. When we read the Book of Revelation, we notice that in the near future there will be a decisive battle in heaven between the Devil and Archangel Michael's war angels. As a result, the Devil will be cast down from heaven, where he has until then been accusing before the throne of Elohim all the people he has caused to sin, day and night. It will happen to him as it happened to the king of Tire in ancient times: Rev. 12:7-9

>>7 Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, so there was no longer any place left in heaven for him and his angels. 9 So that huge dragon - the ancient Serpent, the one called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world - was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.<<

Who was and is the Serpent of Paradise?

It seems that the animal did not have to crawl on its stomach in the beginning, because crawling was given to it as a punishment for betraying Eve, who also fell Adam. We already notice from the previous chapter that Lucifer was also in Eden's paradise, like Adam and Eve. Next, we read how the 'serpent' was punished: Genesis 3:14-15

>>14 Yehowah Elohim said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all the wild beasts and all the living creatures of the field! On your belly you will crawl and dust you will eat all the days of your life. 15 And I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring; her offspring will attack your head, and you will attack her offspring's heel."<<

The 'serpent' in Paradise was perhaps a somewhat human-like wild animal that could speak and was used by the Devil as an intermediary to do harm to his Creator, i.e. in revenge for being cast out of Eden, the Paradise in the spiritual dimension(?) If this happened, then why did our Creator allow it happen?

Our creator knew in advance what could happen

Since our Creator is Almighty, he did not have to take 'unnecessary pressure' on what the Devil might do. Therefore, according to the following parable, it happened sadly: Matt. 13:24-30

>>24 He presented them with another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.

26 When the plants sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared. 27 So the slaves of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?'

28 He said, 'An enemy has done this.' So the slaves replied, 'Do you want us to go and gather them?' 29 But he said, 'No, since in gathering the weeds you may uproot the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At harvest time I will tell the reapers, "First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned, but then gather the wheat into my barn."'"
<<

I'll make a comment on this a bit. The master of the family (Elohim) knew that his enemy (the Devil) would stop at nothing to harm him and his creatures. The question is, why didn't he put a night watch on his posts?

I understand very well that Adam and Eve's trust in their Creator had to be tested, but whether they had enough time to learn to know their Creator as only telling the truth before being tested, and whether it was clear to them what the consequences of their disobedience would be for many generations after them, that remains a mystery and not the Bible tell us enough about it I think.

Adonai Yeshua explained that parable to his disciples as follows: Matt. 13:37b-42

>>37..."The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world and the good seed are the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who sows them is the Devil

The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. 40 As the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be at the end of the age.

41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers. 42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
<<

I will comment on this as well a bit. From the explanation, one gets the idea that the parallel children of Elohim and the children of the Devil live in the world. Like two completely different human races. This does go a long way in explaining why our Creator treats the Devil's children - most of humanity - with great hostility and, in my opinion, quite rightly so. But why doesn't our Creator also guide them to know the truth, since they have been misled by the Devil as we were?

It seems that the fall caught our Creator by surprise

It is hard to believe that the Creator would have already planned in the beginning that the great majority of people will be thrown from the last judgment to Hell, to the Devil and his angels. It also supports this view that our Creator chose to offer his only begotten Son as a vicarious sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. In addition, the constant and even millennia-long power struggle between our Creator and this chosen nation of Israel gives a signal that such a thing was not planned at the beginning.

This view is most supported by the reference I gave in my Bible study last Sabath to how our Creator reacted to the corruption on earth that followed the Fall. It was close that he did not destroy all creation with people and animals. Also, the transgression of the Sons of Elohim in their union with the daughters of men only increased immorality on earth. Genesis 6:4-7

>>4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days (and also after this) when the sons of Elohim were having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. They were the mighty heroes of old, the famous men.

5 But Yehowah saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time. 6 Yehowah regretted that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was highly offended.

7 So Yehowah said, "I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth - everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the sight of Yehowah.
<<

The above event is difficult for people to understand

For these reasons, I feel that the following verses need further explanation:

A) Rev. 13:7-8
>>7 The beast was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them. He was given ruling authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation, 8 and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed.<<

B) Rom. 8:28-32 >>28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love Elohim, who are called according to his purpose, 29 because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

30 And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say about these things? If Elohim is for us, who can be against us?

32 Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?<<

C) Rev. 20:12-15
>>12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened - the book of Life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.

13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death - the lake of fire. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.
<<

D) Ps. 145:8-9
>>8 Yehowah is merciful and compassionate; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love. 9 Yehowah is good to all, and has compassion on all he has made.<< I believe this only because I have had the grace to encounter Him a few times and I know that His innermost being is perfect love! Therefore, I understand how difficult it is for those who have never met him to believe in the Elohim of love. The text of the Bible alone does not tell enough about him, unless the Holy Spirit makes it come alive in the heart of the reader and listener!

As you can see from the above, I am not at all defending the actions and behavior of our Creator towards the people and spirit beings he created, because he does not need me to defend himself. I greatly wonder that according to the Bible, the vast majority of mankind, at least 10 billion, will eventually be thrown into hell and suffer there forever! It is an extremely severe punishment and much more severe than some nations being completely destroyed from the face of the earth!

Please tell me what thoughts this Bible study evoked in you?
(I hope you don't answer, for example, 'Unsearchable are the ways of Elohim', although that is also true.)

Reflections on shabat, 9th August 2024

Most of us New Covenant chosens struggle at the beginning of our life
and
sometimes even decades later, because unexpected obstacles can
come before us.
In the picture, first one runner fell and two other runners also
tripped over him.
The preacher of heresy especially misleads those who do
not know the teachings of
the Bible and takes them with him into darkness.

How do regret and repentance differ from each other?

At least in such a way that a regret person does not always have the strength of spirit to repent of a sin that he has been driven to commit from an early age, due to his family background or the circle of friends in which he has grown crooked before coming to faith. Such growth environments include children of alcoholic and drug addict families and young people who have become members of criminal street gangs.

I carefully researched which word in Luke 17:3-4 is used in the Greek Novum (Textus Receptus). In it, the Greek word "metanoeõ" translates as: 'to think differently', 'repent' or 'regret', and 'to change one's mind'. That's why I choose the word 'regret' from the options in Luke 17:3-4. I noticed that the word 'repent' is used in all the English translations. Why? All Nordic translations use the word 'regret' instead.

However, it is obvious that a person who transgresses against his brother seven times a day is not able to repent, because repenting requires willpower, which he does not yet have enough of. Instead, he is able to say that he regrets his transgression and that is sufficient as a condition for forgiveness. In this case, we have mercy on those who are still weak in their faith.

The goal, of course, is that someone who often commits the same sin is guided to break away from such of evil. He should be nurtured as a spiritual baby who needs a lot of prayer, love and teaching to completely get rid of such sin. First after that he can begin to grow in the life of sanctification and finally develop into an acceptable 'worker' in the vineyard of Adonai Yeshua.

What's the harm in failures in general?

We can fail in many different ways. Some fail in their human relationships, in their studies, and others in their work. However, the worst thing is if we fail in our race for faith, because it can depress and paralyze us so that we withdraw like a turtle into its shell, blame ourselves, and no longer wholeheartedly love the work of spreading the message of salvation.

Without love, all our good deeds are dead, even if they help those in need. Without agape love, I would be only as a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. Therefore, if we have failed in our faith journey, we should regret and reflect on the reasons that have led to it and repent. Some have aspired too soon to too demanding spiritual or secular work and, despite great efforts and many prayers, have failed completely.

In order to prevent such a spiritual loss, the congregations should pay enough attention to the teaching of the Apostle Paul regarding the selection of the congregation's pastor: 1 Tim. 3:6
>>He must not be a recent convert or he may become arrogant and fall into the punishment that the devil will exact.<<
The apostle James warned those who would be set for the position of teachers: James 3:1
>>Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, since you know that we will be judged more severely.<<

We also need patience and endurance so that we don't wallow in self-pity and lie on the ground, but we should get up right away and continue our fight for faith and run the racetrack of life, like the Finnish Olympic champion Lasse Virén did in 1972:
>>Lasse Virén was born in Eastern Uusimaa in 1949. He is still one of Finland's most famous athletes in the world. He won the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at consecutive Olympics in 1972 and 1976. In 1972, the victory came by 10,000 meters, although he crashed on the way.<<

What is the use of failures?

Often the reason for failures is that they and adversity are given by our Creator, so that we remember to rely on him alone in everything and ask him for guidance in everything. That is, even to the smallest things. This request for guidance and prayer concerns human relationships, studies, choosing a job, doing work and especially our activities among his chosen ones!

A believing brother who trusted only in his own abilities and completely failed in his work in the end was surprised that when he finally understood to pray before starting even the smallest task, he was surprised how a wonderful blessing began to rest on his work and life! I have already learned the same as a young believer, when Adonai Yeshua led me to several almost impossible professions!

After all, I worked in several such workplaces, for which my education was not enough to begin with, and neither was my language skills. That's why I always learned to pray every morning before going to work for protection and help, so that I would be able to cope with work tasks with honor. Some unbelieving colleagues and especially superiors, who often did not value my work experience, brought their own burden to my working life.

I have learned that no one should aim for too high a position or too demanding tasks in working life, and also that if you 'unwillingly' end up in such a position and such jobs, then the only way to survive with honor is devout and constant prayer, even in situations where no longer there doesn't even seem to be any hope of success. I know from experience that even then prayer helps!

Did our Creator learn anything from the fall of man?

Humorously, I can imagine that he might have thought immediately after the fall of man:
"Oh, what a mess this turned out to be! If only I had foreseen it, I would never have created man!" (I will explore this topic in more detail in my sabbatical bible study to be published next week)

Perhaps he learned to love us more than before, us his creatures completely corrupted by sin(?) The culmination of his love was that he gave his Son as a sin offering for us. He first asked his Son in heaven if he would agree to be our substitute sacrifice? Ps. 2:8 >>Ask me, and I will give you the heathen (all nations) as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your personal property.<<

His Son agreed to it and answered His Father in heaven, before he was born as a man on earth: Ps. 40:6-8  >>6 Receiving sacrifices and offerings are not your primary concern. You make that quite clear to me! You do not ask for burnt sacrifices and sin offerings. 7 Then I say, "Look! I come! What is written in the scroll pertains to me. 8 I want to do what pleases you, my Elohim. Your law dominates my thoughts."<<

Let us turn our eyes to our substitute and sin offering, Yeshua HaMashiach, who loves us with perfect love, who took all our sin debts on his shoulders and took them with him to the grave and cast them into the depths of the seas, as far as the east is from the west. He will wipe them out once and for all, and remember them no more if we accept him as our Savior and Redeemer.

The love of our Heavenly Father, Yehowah Elohim, was revealed to us in that he gave his dearest Son as our Redeemer. That is what Yeshua HaMashiach himself taught: John 3:16
>>For Elohim so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.<<

Reflections on Shabat, 2nd August 2024

As the number of beggars on our streets increases, even many believers harden their hearts and turn their eyes elsewhere. The number of beggars in the Finnish Capital Region and other big towns has multiplied in recent years. They mostly come from Romania and Bulgaria. Efforts have been made to prevent begging, even to eliminate it with the help of the order law in 2010. The ban was not accepted and it would have been blatantly against people's basic rights and would have been the wrong way to try to prevent publicly visible oppression of people in working life and poverty. The crimes of beggars who occasionally come to Finland from EU countries should be prevented in advance. How it happens is the task of politicians and authorities.

What advice does the Bible give for the problem of poverty?

Nowhere in the Bible is begging forbidden, but instead in many places we are encouraged to help them and show them mercy and love. In April of last year, perhaps the most extreme right-wing government in our history was voted into power in Finland. The left-wing government that preceded it had indebted Finland to a historic amount during its 4-year term with a completely irresponsible wasteful policy.

It is clear that Finland's indebtedness must now be brought under control, but not in such a way that the poor are taken away from the social benefits, without which they will lose their housing - because the salary income is not enough to pay the rent - and as a result they will also lose their jobs. As a result, the number of Finnish homeless beggars will increase significantly in the next few years.

If our current government had acted honestly, then the necessary spending savings should have been collected with additional taxes from middle and high income earners by tightening the taxation of their salary, dividends and side income. It would have been in accordance with Christian ethics and instructions. That is why the KD representatives in the current government (Christian Democrats) give a really bad testimony of their Christian faith through unfair legislation.

Special case 30.7. of giving alms

I already knew in advance that when I was walking to the center of the town of Turku for shopping, I would see some beggars from abroad sitting on the side of the street with a cardboard mug in their hands so that a passer-by would give them a coin or two. That's why I - as often before - put a €2 coin in my pocket for some beggar.

Before that, I went to the pharmacy to buy asthma medicine. I was going to buy two loose packs of Symbicort Inhaler and I asked the young friendly woman, the pharmacist, that if I buy the two packs, will I get a statutory price reduction of 65% on both? She said that I can and if I buy a big 3-pack of it, I will save €2 on the price and I will get the same price reduction of 65% for all three.

When I heard that I would get a 2€ savings, I immediately realized that my intention to give that 2€ coin to one beggar was especially pleasing to my Savior Adonai Yeshua. I bought the 3-pack and got a saving of €2, and since now my asthma medication (together with the previous ones) will last until the end of July next year, I will actually get an additional saving of a good one euro, because in Finland the VAT (value added tax) on medicines will rise from 10% by government regulation to 14% from 1 January 2025.

I gave that €2 coin to an old Romanian woman who was sitting on a dusty street with a mug of cardboard in her hand. I smiled while giving the coin and at the same time wished: "May Yeshua bless you!" She raised her hands in thanks, crossed them and wished me: "May Jesus bless you!" I immediately felt great joy in my heart and great love of Yehowah Elohim. The NT promise was fulfilled: "A joyful giver is loved by Elohim!"

I did not tell that incident to brag, but as an exhortation to you readers who have not been in the habit of giving anything to the hard-pressed, hungry and homeless beggars on the streets. Next time, please, give a coin or if you're rich, give a note to the beggar you meet on the street. Give it with blessing and love, and you will also experience the love of Yehowah Elohim!

The need for aid in the world will grow a lot in the next few years

If Yehowah Elohim has also granted you the part of a joyful giver, then always be diligent in using that talent, because through it you can help many people rise up from (perhaps) only temporary poverty and thus give them more time to search the real purpose for their existence. Then they can, as if by groping, find connection with their Creator. After that they can come to faith in HaMashiach Yeshua and through that at the end of their sanctification achieve salvation!

Especially in countries at war, such as Israel, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, just to name a few, the need for aid is already enormous and will only increase as the wars drag on and especially as they escalate. Therefore, we should extend our helping hands to help them and pray for peace for Israel, Jerusalem, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen and for all the chosen ones of the New Covenant in all those countries where they are oppressed and persecuted! Those countries are numerous!

The giving of alms, the giving of tithes, the giving of various thanksgiving and praise offerings and other voluntary donations, fasting and prayers are, in addition to the proclamation of the Salvation Message, such living acts of love to which we are called as the children of the Living Elohim and as the disciples of Adonai Yeshua. It is the prerogative of the Royal Clergy, so let us be diligent in all good deeds of love and do them with joy!
