Reflections on Shabat, April 25, 2025

Two weeks ago I promised to bring up this theme in a Bible study. The two pictures from the left show the destruction of the 1st Temple in Jerusalem by the Babylonian army in 586 or 587 BCE, and the third picture shows the complete destruction of the 2nd Temple in Jerusalem by the Roman army led by Titus in 70 AD.

The symbols of the Temple were, among others, the Torah (the Pentateuch), the Menorah (a golden 7-branched candlestick). The first picture also shows the Torah and the 1st Temple in Jerusalem. The second and third pictures also show the Menorah. (I will return to the fourth picture later)

Primary Meaning of Torah: Torah refers to the law of Yehowah, revealed to Moses and recorded in the first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures (Pentateuch). Its core is the Law of the Ten Commandments, originally written on two stone tablets by the finger of Yehowah.

However, the word “Torah” also has many other meanings. It refers not only to the Pentateuch, but also to the entire Tanakh, and is sometimes used to refer to the Talmud and other rabbinical writings (known as the Oral Torah). Torah can also refer to the broad written Jewish teachings.

The Holy Scriptures of the Torah were the most precious treasure for the Jews of the Old Covenant, for which they were ready to sacrifice their lives, like Daniel and his three friends of old. Many of us New Covenant Saints will also experience martyrdom for our faith in Yeshua.

The Menorah symbolizes the Holy Light or Shekinah glory that surrounds Yehowah Elohim and for us New Covenant Saints it is a type of the Message of Salvation that the Holy Spirit illuminates for us when we believe in the sermon of repentance, repent and believe in Adonai Yeshua.

The Holy One of Israel, YHWH (Yehowah), dwelt in the Most Holy Place of the Temple in Jerusalem in ancient times and appeared above the golden mercy seat that was there. Today, through His Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Adonai Yeshua, He dwells in all the saints of the New Covenant, for our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

However, let us now focus on only the last two verses of the picture: Matt. 11:12 and Luke 16:16.

Who are those attackers?

They are referred to in the verses Matt. 11:12 and Luke 16:16. According to Novum, both verses refer to a violent attack on the Kingdom of Heaven (also the Kingdom of Elohim). Let us consider who might be the attackers who seize the Kingdom of Heaven and/or invade it by force?

I believe the attackers are related to the proclamation of John the Baptist and Yeshua Mashiach:

A. Matt. 3:1-2
>>1 Now in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.<<

B. Mark 1:14-15
>>14 And after John was delivered up, Yeshua came into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom of Elohim, 15 and saying, The time has been fulfilled, and the Kingdom of Elohim draws near. Repent and believe in the Good News!<<

Church history reveals something shocking!

As Christianity spread throughout the world, over the centuries it was (unfortunately) also modified at least partially in 7 Councils, or church councils, from Nicaea to Nicaea. Changes were made to the content of the 10 commandments of the Law of Moses, the Shabat was abolished on Sundays: 'on the day of the great sun god' in 321 AD by the decree of Constantine the Great.

In addition, the original apostolic water baptism, which was only prescribed for those who professed their faith, was replaced by infant baptism without a confession of faith, and baptism was also performed in a different way in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Before that, the Catholic church modified the verse Matt. 28:19 to require it. The churches have also argued about who of they owns the 'Power of the keys'.

In the continuation verses of the previously mentioned verse Luke 16:16, the following has been declared to all churches in the world (including Catholics, Orthodox, etc.) according to Adonai Yeshua. Luke 16:17-18

>>17 But it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away than one tittle of the Torah to fail. 18 Everyone putting away his wife, and marrying another, commits adultery. And everyone marrying her who has been put away from a husband commits adultery.<<

The attackers have been Churches and their leaders

The crusades, inquisitions, and mass murders carried out by the great apostate Churches of the world have targeted all Christians and Jews who have refused to obey their counterfeit doctrines. The blood of tens of millions of genuine Christians and Jews has been shed over time, as prophesied in the verses: Rev. 17:3-6

>>3 And he carried me away into a desert, by the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and being gilded with gold and precious stone and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominations and unclean things of her fornication.

5 And on her forehead was a name having been written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth. 6 And I saw the woman being drunk from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Yeshua. And I marveled, seeing her with a great marveling.<<

There are also many other attackers: atheists, communists, Islamists, scientologists, etc. The most cunning and evil attacker is the Devil with his fallen angels, demons and evil spirits! All of those attackers I listed above are led and incited by that old Serpent (the Devil) with his allies!

What does the fourth picture on the right mean?

"The Attack" is a painting by the Finnish artist Edvard Isto. It is one of the most famous Finnish paintings. The painting represents the Russian double-headed eagle attacking the Finnish Maiden trying to rob her of her book of Laws. The painting was completed in 1899, the same year when emperor Nicholas II of Russia gave his publication known as the February Manifesto. More about The February Manifesto:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_Manifesto

The Finnish Maiden in the picture is holding the LEX: Finland's own Law, which the Russian Emperor Nicholas II tried to completely annul, even though previous emperors had granted Finland a special status as a Grand Duchy, part of Russia. In the same way, apostate Churches and pagan rulers have tried to change the Jewish Ten Teaching and Torah, to suit the pagans.

Reflections on Shabat, April 18, 2025

It is worth noting that our ancestors did not only eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of evil, but its fruit also contained the knowledge of good. But evil knowledge quickly took hold of people, and unbelief, all kinds of violence, immorality, and wickedness took hold of all mankind.

Still, as Paul states, people remained aware of good and had the opportunity to choose either to do good or to do evil. But soon almost all people began to do only evil, and in order for mankind not to be destroyed because of sin, Yehowah Elohim had to devise a plan of salvation for us.

Since people were unable to do perfectly good and pleasing deeds to their Creator, our Creator decided to save people only on the basis of faith in the heart. Acc. to this, anyone, even a person who has fallen into the power of many sins, can receive eternal life as a gift only by his faith.

Faith must be directed to the only begotten Son of Elohim named Yeshua HaMashiach so that after hearing the Message of Salvation, a person believes in his heart that Yeshua died as a sinless man for his sins, He rose from the dead, and confesses with his mouth Yeshua as his Lord.

The irreplaceable importance of Adonai Yeshua in our salvation

The sins of men require atonement, and the only perfect atonement sacrifice accepted by Elohim is His only begotten Son, who, suffering innocently, bore all our sins to Calvary and took them away from us by dying on the cross for our sins. For the wages of our sins was death!

Romans 6:22-23
>>
22 But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to Elohim, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of Elohim is everlasting life in Mashiach Yeshua our Adonai.<<

Passover, in Hebrew Pesach, signifies the New Covenant for believers in Yeshua, the perfect reconciliation between man and the Holy Elohim. Yeshua HaMashiach purchased us with his holy blood to be a royal priesthood for his Father. Yeshua HaMashiach is our sin offering forever before his Father Yehowah Elohim!

1 Pet. 2:9-10
>>9 But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6) 10 you who then were "not a people, but now are the people" of Elohim; "the one not pitied then but now pitied." (Hos. 1:6, 9 2:1, 23).<<

Emotional balance even in times of persecution

We must first achieve it in a peaceful state. We achieve it with the guidance of the Holy Spirit through regular Bible reading and study, and by praying always in the Spirit and in Truth. It is a matter of our daily choice, for the Lord will never force us to associate with Him.

Let us submit our will, our aspirations, our hopes and dreams, saying to Yeshua: "You know me and you know what I would like to do with my life, but when I gave my life into your hands, I also gave you complete control over my will and my future."

If we do, as Adonai Yeshua said in Gethsemane: "Not my will, but yours be done," then we can be sure that Yeshua will lead us in our lives on the best path to finally home in heaven with him, his Father, all the other saved and glorious spirit beings!

We will all face persecution and Satan's wrath during our earthly life, but it is only a short time compared to eternity and Adonai Yeshua will protect and preserve us in all dangers that come our way and by His power will provide a way out of them all!

Two memories related to my emotional life

A. Deep joy and gratitude in the midst of misery, influenced by faith. I was working in Sweden for the summer in 1977 at a rubber factory in Svaneholm, near Borås, called Firestone-Viskafors Ab.

After two months there, I got another day job in the guillotine department with a young Spanish man named Tony. Only we worked there. The job was to cut rubber blanks of about a cubic meter into pieces of suitable size for further processing. He was an open-minded guy, but very depressed because the summer was very rainy and the sunshine was very rare.

He was a Roman Catholic and did not talk about religion at all. He was a handsome young man and was engaged to a beautiful Swedish girl. He only intended to work in Sweden until he could save up enough money to buy a new car and move back with his girlfriend to the sunny coast of Spain. One rainy Monday morning, I decided to surprise him and while we were talking in English, I asked him with a smile: “Have you already remembered to give thanks to the Lord for this wonderful day?”

He started laughing and going crazy. Then he left the workplace for a moment and returned with a 5-liter can of paint and a paintbrush. I wondered what on earth he was going to do? He painted the same sentence on the dark brown wall with yellow paint, in cat-sized letters, across the entire width of the wall: HAVE YOU ALREADY REMEMBERED GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR THIS WONDERFUL DAY? (Hand to heart, reader, have you already remembered?)

I knew it wouldn't do any good, because we had an old Finnish public communist as our supervisor in that department. When he came for an inspection shortly after and happened to glance at the wall, he was horrified! Then he shouted: "Leif, did you write that?" I replied: "No I didn't." Then he asked: "Who did it?" I replied: "I know, but I won't tell."

He looked at both of  us in turn and said: “I will bring you solvent and I demand that you wash that text off the wall immediately!” He brought solvent and rags. Then we washed the text off. After the supervisor left, we laughed out loud at his horrified expression when he saw the text. (He must later have had nightmares about us turning a rubber factory into a temple.)

After that, I wrote on the edge of the guillotine “Gud är Kärleken!” (God is Love) and the supervisor did not interfere. The message about that text spread to others in the factory and people came one by one and two to look at the text on the guillotine. Many had smiles on their faces. They had also heard about that previous text. It brightened for many a gray day at the factory and hopefully caused their hearts to turn in faith to the Savior.

B. Deep depression and grief in extreme circumstances. This happened in midwinter in the beginning of 1977, one Thursday, on my way to my mother's in Borås, Sweden.

I had to leave the Kibbutz in Israel quickly. It was a shock to arrive from the warmth of Israel (25 C / 77 F) to Finnish cold in Helsinki with -25 C / -13 F. I had no apartment or job in Finland. Just before leaving Israel, I had received a telegram from my mother: "Leave Israel immediately and come to your mother in Borås!" That is the only telegram I have ever received, and it came at just the right time. When Adonai leads, when one door closes, He always opens another one!

I had reached Stockholm by ship and managed to send my suitcase weighing 30 kg as train freight to Borås. That was when I ran out of money, and I didn't know anyone in Stockholm. It was a very cold winter. Then even in Stockholm it was -18 C / -0,4 F! I prayed for help from above. I asked for food to satisfy my hunger, a place to sleep, and that I could get to my mother before the Shabat began.

I had promised to witness about my Lord to everyone I could hitchhike with during my trip. I had already gotten a few rides and had made it a little south of Södertälje from Stockholm. A man dropped me off at an unmanned gas station next to the highway and warned me not to hitchhike on the highway, as it was illegal. I decided to wait for people to stop by the gas station.

It was almost 11 pm and there were no more cars on the highway. None of the few passing cars drove off to the gas station. I had sung in my heart all the hymns of praise to the Lord that I knew by heart, but still disbelief crept into my heart that I would have to spend the night outside and die in the bitter cold. There was not a single house in sight. Then I sighed: "This is hopeless!"

Immediately I heard a small voice: "Abraham also hoped, even though there was no hope." It immediately lit a flame of faith in my heart and I went to hitchhike along the highway singing praises, because emergency knows no law. My fingers and toes were already cold from the cold, but the flame of faith burned in my heart.

A few minutes later, a driver passed me at high speed, but stopped and reversed about 100 m back to me, opened the door and asked in Swedish. I didn't understand and asked him to speak English, he said: "I couldn't believe my eyes that somebody is asking for a free trip here at midnight!" I told him that I was on my way to my mother in Borås and as he took me to the Norrköping train station, I confessed my faith in Jesus.

He lived near Norrköping and bought me a train ticket for a train cabin and gave me 20 SEK to buy food. He bought a train ticket via Karlstad to Gothenburg and from there a connection by train to Borås. The journey to Gothenburg took 7 hours and 42 minutes, so I had time to sleep well in the warm cabin. I bought food in Gothenburg and changed to a local train. I arrived in Borås at 2 pm on Friday before the Shabat began. So all three of my prayers were answered. HalleluYah!

I had gotten his name 'Leif Lindfors' (he was my namesake) and mailing address and sent him, from my first salary, back all the assistance he had given me, because he had recently married and was also in need of money, even though he had gotten a good job at Saab Data Ab in Stockholm. At the same time, I proved to him that, that as a Christian I did not want to benefit at the expense of others.

Reflections on Shabat, 11 April, 2025

Our topic now is: Is the Bible completely reliable, and if not, in what aspects can we trust it? Therefore, it is worth considering the following points:

1) What does the word 'Bible' mean?
2) What different writings does it consist of?
3) How did its scriptures originate?
4) Why were they chosen for the Bible?
5) How widely has the Bible been distributed?

6) What is the basic message of the Bible?
7) In what aspects can the Bible be fully trusted?
8) To what extent and why do I trust the Bible?
9) How does the Bible doctrine differ from other religions?
10) What is the core message of the Bible for this time?

1) What does the word 'Bible' mean?

The English word Bible is derived from Koinē Greek: τὰ βιβλία, romanized: ta biblia, meaning "the books" (singular βιβλίον, biblion). The word βιβλίον itself had the literal meaning of "scroll" and came to be used as the ordinary word for "book". It is about the Scriptures that are considered especially Holy.

2) What different writings does it consist of?

Our Bible contains 66 different Writings, of which the first 39 form the Old Testament or OT. The remaining 27 Writings form the New Testament or NT. The New Testament can also be called the New Covenant, because that name has been used in the prophecies of the OT.

3) How did its Scriptures originate?

According to the Bible itself, our Creator, Yehowah Elohim, spoke to His chosen prophets often through His Holy Spirit and sometimes also through His holy angels. He spoke to them through dreams, visions and natural phenomena. Even through a donkey to the prophet Balaam.

Yehowah required them to write down for future generations everything that He said and taught them. This especially applied to the Old Testament Scriptures. The New Testament Scriptures were born in a somewhat exceptional way compared to them:
 Hebr. 1:1-4

>>1 In many parts and in many ways of old, Elohim spoke to the fathers in the prophets; 2 in these last days He spoke to us in the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through whom He indeed made the ages(additional meaning: worlds)

3 who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, having made purification of our sins through Himself, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, He has inherited a name more excellent than they.<<

4) Why were they chosen for the Bible?

Previously, in he most of the so-called Church Bible were also included the Apocryphal Books of the OT, but they have been omitted from the latest translations, partly because they have not been considered sufficiently reliable and partly because the Bible would not become too thick. The Apocryphal Books can be purchased separately and are worth reading.

The content of different Bible translations differs slightly depending on the Christian denominations. For example, the Orthodox Church's Bible has 76 Scriptures. The Catholic Bible also includes the Apocryphal Books. The Septuagint, translated into Greek by 70 Jews (about 200 BCE), also contains the Apocryphal Books.

The Septuagint includes the following book groups: https://www.septuagint.bible/#

a) Pentateuch or Law (5 books of Moses) / Total 5

b) Historical books: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1-2 Samuel, 1-2 Kings, 1-2 Chronicles, 1-2 Ezra, Esther (more), Judith, Tobias, 1-3 Maccabees / Total 17 books

c) Wisdom books: Psalms, Psalm 151, Ecclesiastes, Job, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Psalms of Solomon, Wisdom, Sirach // 12 Minor prophets: Hosea, Amos, Micah, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi / Total 21

d) Major prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Baruch, Lamentations, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel (more) / Total 7 books

e) Appendix: 4 Maccabees / (appendix only)

In total, the Septuagint contains a total of 50 Scriptures. Since the Jewish NT contains a total of 27 Scriptures, the Jewish Bible therefore ought to contain a total of 77 Scriptures.

According to the NT, every Scripture that is inspired by the Holy Spirit is beneficial to the New Covenant saints regarding their earthly and spiritual lives. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

>>16 Every Scripture is Elohim-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 so that the man of Elohim may be perfected, fully furnished for every good work.<<

5) How widely has the Bible been distributed?

As of November 2024, the entire Bible will have been translated into 756 languages, the New Testament will have been translated into an additional 1,726 languages, and smaller portions of the Bible will have been translated into 1,274 other languages. This brings the total number of languages in which at least some portions of the Bible will have been translated.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_translations

5.9 billion people have the entire Bible in their own language. A total of 7.2 billion people have some version of the Bible in their native language. A total of 3,776 languages – more than half of the world’s languages – spoken by 201 million people still have no Bible at all. (April 3, 2023)
https://unitedbiblesocieties.org/scripture-translations-for-723-million-people-completed-by-bible-societies-in-2022/

6) What is the basic message of the Bible?

In short, the Bible tells us that there is only one Creator, Yehowah Elohim, who created all the visible and invisible universe, including the heavens and the heaven of heavens with all their hosts. He created them all by His Word (Yeshua) and Spirit in and into His Son.

For us humans, the condition for salvation is to hear the Message of Salvation about the work of redemption of our souls that our Creator's Son, Mashiach Yeshua, accomplished on our behalf on the cross of Golgotha almost 2000 years ago, and to place all our hope for salvation in Him alone. No other salvation is offered to us!

So it is about salvation through faith alone without our own merits or works. But if we truly believe in Adonai Yeshua, then we will be grateful for his immense sacrifice and obey his teachings as our faith grows and we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit. This is what it means to follow Yeshua.

We find the teachings of Adonai Yeshua in the gospels and the Acts and in letters of the New Testament. The Book of Revelation is also written for our guidance in holiness and obedience to the faith. How did the apostle Peter teach the principles of salvation to those who believed the gospel preached to them? Acts 2:38-39

>>38 And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Yeshua Mashiach to remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Yehowah our Elohim shall call.<<

I obeyed that teaching of Peter and was filled with the Holy Spirit about 2 months later. The fact that all who come to faith must be baptized in the name of Yeshua Mashiach and no other name is evident from the following teachings of the apostle Peter, and notice that it is about all people under the sun, and not just about Jews! Acts 4:8-12

>>8 Then being filled of the Holy Spirit, Peter said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel, 9 if we are being examined today on a good work of an infirm man, by what this one has been healed,

10 let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua Mashiach HaNotzri, whom you crucified, whom Elohim raised from the dead, in this name this one stands before you whole.

11 This One is the Stone counted worthless by you the builders, which has become to be the Head of the Corner; 12 and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved.<<

7) In what aspects can the Bible be fully trusted?

Unfortunately, all Bible translations have had errors in translation and interpretation over time, and therefore no Bible translation is 100% reliable. However, the basic message of the Bible is all the more reliable the more often it is mentioned in the Bible. Some individual teachings, for which there is no single confirmation, should be considered suspicious. Especially then, if they clearly contradict several other Bible verses. An example of this is Matt. 28:19.

Also, all liberal Bible translations that are not intentionally made to be literal, but rather, for example, based on the principle of dynamic equivalence, are not reliable because they contain so much errors, i.e. the translators' own human, incomplete views of the content of the original texts.

8) To what extent and why do I trust the Bible?

I began to trust the Bible after hearing the gospel from my mother, who also lived it. I was only 3 years old at the time. I received confirmation of my faith after making a rational decision of faith when I was 12 years old and alone at home. I decided to believe in Yeshua as my Savior and to start following his noble teachings for the rest of my life.

Then I asked quietly in my heart: "If I get to heaven, will I be able to enjoy myself there and what will I do there forever?" At that time, I was bullied at school and tired of my life in the midst of the evil of the world. I was alone at home then and after making the decision, I heard a voice in response:

>>You will receive strength. You will lift your wings like eagles. You will run and not be tired. You will walk and not be weary.<<

After hearing that, I realized that a personal Creator exists and then my eyes were opened to see the spiritual dimension and I thanked my beloved Creator fervently and joyfully! Later, I found verses in the Bible knowing, that He who gave that promise me, was my Creator! Isaiah 40:30-31

>>
30 Even youths are faint and fatigued, and young men surely shall stumble; 31 but the ones waiting for Yehowah shall renew power; they shall go up with wings as the eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint!<<

Adonai Yeshua often referred to the prophet Isaiah and other Old Testament Scriptures. That is why I believe that the entire Bible is at least partially inspired by the Holy Spirit. That is why I have read the Bible daily. I am currently reading the entire Bible through for the 50th time and am currently reading the KJB, the accurate English King James Version. I have read it many times before.

I trust various Bible translations to the extent that I feel that the Holy Spirit confirms their content. Some translations are clearly more accurate than others, so I recommend the reader to be healthy in their criticism of different translations. I recommend for Finnish the translation KR1933/38 and two English translations: KJV and CJB (Complete Jewish Bible).

Insert: Two interesting memories from 1976

A. I was then living as a tenant of a clever Jewish widow at Fredrikinkatu 30, in Helsinki. It occurred to me to write selected Bible verses and stick them with easily removable tape on the paintings in my room. The widow, Braine Berlin, came to me one Sabbath and asked: "Why have you put those Bible verses on my paintings?"

I answered her: "So that I may better remember how good my Lord is and from what he has saved me." Then I asked Braine: "What does that large Hebrew name I have made out of aluminum foil: יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshua) that I have pinned to your shawl mean to you?" She answered: "It is the name of God in Hebrew." I answered him: "Yes and He is my God."

B. I was still living as a tenant of the same clever Jewish widow at Fredrikinkatu 30, in Helsinki. I had visiting brothers and I enjoyed the Lord's Supper with them. Once an elderly missionary man visited me and talked with the widow. The widow surprisingly said to the man: "You Christians have robbed our Jewish Holy Scriptures for yourselves."

From a Jewish perspective, she was absolutely right! Regarding Braine Berlin's comment, I quote the following verses: Matt. 11:12-13 >>12 But from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent seize it. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.<<

If our Creator wills, then:
- I will study more closely on that surprising teaching of Adonai Yeshua in 2 weeks in the Shab
at.
- I will study for next Shabat: Instructions for finding and maintaining a balance of good knowledge, faith, and emotional life even in times of persecution.

9) How the Bible doctrine differs from other religions?

The Bible is the only book that credibly and consistently tells the beginning of the universe and how it was created by the Word of Yehowah Elohim. It also tells the wonderful news that whoever believes in Adonai Yeshua as Savior receives forgiveness of sins through faith in his blood and eternal life with him after man's earthly journey here has ended.

No other religion or doctrine gives reliable answers to man's basic questions, nor does it bring peace to the human heart. Only Christianity tells us about a Creator who loves all people! It is also the only doctrine whose founder has proven to have defeated death, risen from the dead, and deservedly received all power in heaven and on earth! 1 Cor. 15:3-6 and Matt. 28:18

1 Cor. 15:3-6 >>
3 For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Mashiach died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 Then He appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also fell asleep.<<

Matt. 28:18 >>
And coming up Yeshua talked with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me.<<

10) What is the core message of the Bible for this time?

Let us finally give Adonai Yeshua the last words: Luke 24:44-49

>>44 And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that must be fulfilled all the things having been written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me.

45 Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, So it is written, and so the Mashiach must suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. 47 And repentance and remission of sins must be preached on His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.<<

Reflections on Shabat, 4 April, 2025

April 2 I went to the Turku Main Library to read the day's news. An old man I didn't know sat down in front of me. He asked me: "How is the lord?" I replied: "The Lord upstairs is doing very well." He got confused and said: "Everyone can believe what they want." Then I said: "I have been a believer since I was 3 years old and I know Him very well." That reminded me of those verses Jer. 9:23-24.

Why do men in particular strive to win over others?

They strive to win wisdom, power and wealth because they are the means to success in this world. The wiser, stronger and richer you are, the more you are valued, respected and even worshipped as an idol! Today, it does not even matter how honestly wisdom, wealth and power were acquired.

But do excessive wisdom, power and wealth make their owner happy? In the Bible we can read that King Solomon of Israel, who was gifted with great wisdom by Jehovah, was very disappointed with everything he saw around him and finally said: "...Everything is vanity and a striving after wind." Eccl. 1:14

>>I have seen all the works which are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and striving after wind!<<

The desire to win over everyone else is fundamentally selfishness and lack of love for all our neighbors. There is an earthly wisdom and a heavenly wisdom that differs from it. We need both of them when we live in the world. We also need mental and physical strength and wealth in work life and in human relationships.

What we need most is to know our Creator and the great plan of salvation that he has prepared. Even if we were to live longer than others in our great wisdom and avoid great dangers and falls in our lives and gain respect from others with our great wealth, in the end we will all die and our wealth will stay here.

Why do almost all people pursue vanity?

They do not understand the true purpose of their existence. We will realize it only after we have found a living connection with our Creator. The same connection that our ancestors Adam and Eve lost as a result of the fall into sin in paradise. That connection is formed when we believe in Adonai Yeshua.

If we believe that he is the Son of the Most High and the only bringer of salvation for us sinners and those on the road to perdition, then we will carefully find out what he taught. So let us read his teachings in the New Testament day by day and begin to put them into practice. Genuine faith opens the gates of heaven!

Because of their unbelief, people today are more fearful than ever about what they would eat, or what they would drink, or what they would wear. In addition, there are numerous other real and artificial needs to satisfy their desires. But there are very few real needs: the inner knowledge of Adonai Yeshua.

So what should we aim for first?

Let us seek to know the Savior within and ask Him to be the Counselor of our hearts in all the small and large decisions of our lives. Then we will find Him guiding our lives through His Holy Spirit and Word and carrying out His plan of salvation for us day by day.

About Adonai Yeshua is mysteriously prophesied through Solomon:
Prov. 8:34-36

>>
34 Blessed is the man listening to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, and he shall obtain favor from Yehowah. 36 But he who sins against me does violence to his own soul; all who hate me love death.<<
