Reflections on shabat, July 10, 2026

Pictures from the left: 1) Enoch or Hanok walked with Elohim for 300 years and then He took him to Himself without seeing death. 2) The righteous Noah built an ark in which he and 7 other people and a large number of animals were saved when the flood drowned all other living things on earth. 3) Abraham was obedient to Jehovah and became the father of the righteousness of faith for us too. 4) Sarai, later Sarah, was obedient to Abram, later to Abraham and called him lord. 5) Moses led Israel out of slavery in Egypt, but did not enter the promised land himself because of his disobedience, even though he prayed twice and fervently for it.

6) Joshua received an answer to his prayer that no other person has ever received (read the picture) / The prophet Elijah also received several tremendous answers to his prayer and was taken to heaven in a fiery chariot without experiencing death. His successor, the prophet Elisha, performed twice as many miracles as Elijah. 7) At the command of the prophetess Deborah, the judge of Israel, Barak freed Israel from the power of the Canaanite warlord Jabin. 8) The Virgin Mary was a pious woman of prayer who became the mother of Yeshua the Messiah. 9) John the Baptist, according to Yeshua, was the greatest of all the prophets born of women.

10) Yeshua himself was a master of prayer who still prays in glory for us. / I have only mentioned a few examples of prayerful people.

We reread the Bible verses in the picture

>>12 Then spake Joshua to the Yehowah in the day when the Yehowah delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Yehowah hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Yehowah fought for Israel.<< Joshua 10:12-14

>>17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.<< James 5:17-18

In Israel, there have been many men and women who were obedient to Yehowah at different times. According to the Bible, they were characterized by a devout life of holiness, and they did not seek human honor, but the honor that Yehowah gives to his servants. May they all be models and examples for us in a life of holiness and prayer.

We learn from the Bible that even Yehowah's Son Yeshua did nothing without holiness and unyielding prayer. Let us remember that our salvation is entirely due to his obedience to the will of his Father! On the cross of Calvary in his flesh he suffered death for us as a sinless sacrificial lamb, redeeming us with his holy blood!

What kind of prayer is acceptable to Yehowah?

It must be according to His will. It must not contradict His Word. In order to always pray according to His will, we must know the Scriptures of the Bible as well as possible. When we read the Bible daily, we also learn to know our beloved Yehowah more closely than before.

It is not enough to memorize the entire Bible, but you must have the Holy Spirit as your guide. Yehowah, together with Adonai Yeshua, will send Him to you as a gift and guide if you are obedient to the mission command, that is, believe in Adonai Yeshua, repent and be baptized in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach. Let us read:
Acts 2:38-39 (Contents as declared by the apostle Peter)

>>
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Yehowah our Elohim shall call.<<

Let us practice acceptable prayer!

No one is born a blacksmith, but diligent practice makes a master in all different fields, including prayers of faith. A violinist, pianist, computer expert and other jobs that require special skills require a lot of theoretical and practical training. Similar requirements apply to learning acceptable prayers.

A new convert is like a child in these matters, and therefore it is wise to start with an easy prayer. Pray for something that you know in your heart is necessary and good in every way. Let it be a trivial subject at first, as an indication that you want to be in conversation with your Creator and learn to pray correctly.

The subject may be a need for help in doing some task. So ask Yehowah in the name of Yeshua either for yourself to have the skill to do it or for him to send you someone to help you if you are unable to do it yourself. Do not tell anyone about it, but only Yehowah. Ask for an answer within a certain time, give thanks, and wait in faith!

I have received hundreds of small, great and very great answers to my prayers using this principle. Sometimes I have received them immediately and sometimes after a longer period of time. When it comes to prayers for close relatives who are not believers, it can take even several decades. If we do not tire, the answer will come!

As great answers to prayer, I have received several jobs that my studies and skills were not even close to being sufficient for! Yehowah gave them to me because when I pray for help in doing work tasks, he always helps me with them and that has happened many times! Once I got a car by praying. Please read of that:

Let us pray, even if the answer is negative!

I have prayed for many things that I have only received partial answers to, and some of them negative answers. I am still waiting for answers to many of my prayers. Even the saints of the Old Testament did not receive a positive answer to all their prayers. Such were, for example, Moses, David, and Baruch, the scribe of the prophet Isaiah.

Yeshua's disciples did not receive the answer they wanted when they prayed that Yeshua would not die. As for Yeshua himself, even he did not receive a positive answer to all his prayers from his Father! He prayed three times in Gethsemane that he must not die if possible. However, he finally said: "Father, not my will, but yours be done!"
Let us pray always in the same way!

It was not for nothing that Adonai Yeshua urged us, his disciples, to beg and pray and to trust that he will also answer our prayers! We read: Matt. 7:7-8

>>
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.<<
