Reflections on Shabat, 12th April 2024

I tend to pray during the week about a current topic for Sabbath study. This morning (Thursday 11.4.) I woke up with the verse clearly in my ears and I said: >>Lock the Law with a seal to my disciples!<< This topic obviously requires a proper introduction and therefore I will return to it only at the end of the treatise.

What does Daniel 9:24 mean for the Jews?

Since the book of Daniel is originally in Aramaic, there have been great difficulties in translating it. However, it is important to understand it correctly because it is clearly one of the end time prophecies regarding Israel and Jerusalem! It also has consequences for all Gentile nations.

A Finnish Christian man respected by many, Kaarlo Syväntö was sent to Israel by the angel of Adonai already in 1947, i.e. a year before the independence of the state of Israel and was given the task of distributing to the Israelis, according to Ezekiel's prophecy, 'pure water', i.e. the genuine Word of Elohim.

Indeed, he, his family and co-workers have distributed many hundreds of thousands of complete Bibles as gifts to Israelis and other nationalities in Israel over a period of about 77 years.
The angel referred to the following verses concerning the Israelites Ezek. 36:24-25

>>24 I will take you out of the heathen nations and gather you from all countries and bring you into your own land. 25 And I will sprinkle clean water on you, so that you will be cleansed; from all your filthiness and from all your stone gods I will cleanse you.<<

Kaarlo Syväntö translated the verse Dan. 9:24 as follows (in parentheses additions and references to Hebrew words)

>>Seventy weeks are decreed for your (Daniel's) people and your holy city (Jerusalem), that rebellion (pesha) will end, sins (hataim) will be sealed and transgressions (avon) will be covered and eternal righteousness will be brought forth and divine revelation and prophecy will be confirmed and the Holy of Holies (Messiah) is anointed.<<

Even though Kaarlo was deficient, his explanation, which I have quoted from a booklet printed in 1977, correctly prophesied that the Soviet Union at that time must disintegrate so that the countries occupied by it, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, could join the European Community, i.e. the current EU. That is exactly what has already happened in the 21st century!

My own addition: It had to happen so that the most terrible Beast of Revelation 13, the ancient Roman Empire, could once again take shape and take over the nations. Kaarlo Syväntö also justified his view in roughly the same way.

Why verse Dan. 9:24 is important to everyone?

Because it is one of the Old Testament references to what will happen in Israel and Jerusalem during the End Times. For the Israelis, it is a huge good news after a long exile and about 1900 years of being in great distress!

The prophet Ezekiel has written no less than 13 consecutive chapters 36-48 about this! In my opinion, we are living in the preparation phase of Gog's war, which is prophesied in chapter 38. I agree with Kaarlo Syväntö and many other Word Teachers that Russia is the Gog mentioned by Ezekiel. An unequivocal reference has been made to the location of the nation in question: (Ezek. 39:1-3)

  It is located
"the farthest north" from Israel's point of view. If we draw the meridian north from Jerusalem, it goes between the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg through the Arctic Ocean to the North Pole. Verse Ezekiel
39:2 according to Kaarlo Syväntö, reads like this:

>>I will transport you, I will carry you, I will lift you from the farthest North and let you attack the mountains of Israel. And I leave only a sixth part of you alive.<<

There are currently about 90 million native Russians. The others, out of its total of approximately 146 million inhabitants, are from several different ethnic groups. That's why only 15 million Russians would survive if the war started now! As a result of the war, Russia would break up into many parts. I will sincerely be happy about it!

The tyrant currently ruling Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovitš Putin, is particularly cruel, completely disregarding international law and the fate of civilians in his current war of conquest against Ukraine. He acts against Ukrainians like Hamas terrorists from Gaza acts against Israeli civilians, seeking to destroy Ukraine and usurp its entire territory for themselves!

  According to
Ezekiel, Elohim will put hooks in the jaws of Putin's army and its allies and drag them to fight in the mountains of Israel, where they will face the judgment of Elohim. The next mention of it is Joel 2:20 (according to the interpretation of Kaarlo Syväntö and many other Bible scholars)

>>I will cast the army from the north far from you, and bring it into a desolate and barren land bordering on the uttermost sea on the east and the last sea on the north. And from that, a rash arises, a plague arises. Because it has tried big things.<<

That Area Description is only suitable for Siberia. The two seas are the Bering Sea in the east and the Arctic Ocean in the north. The world's coldest place in Siberia is Oimjakon, where about 400 Russians live and where the temperature often drops to -58 °C (-72.4 °F) in winter.

Verse Dan. 9:24 is also important for the Gentiles chosen for salvation as follows. In connection with that, the apostle Paul wrote the following in Romans 11:13-15

>>13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Seeing that I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if somehow I could provoke my people to jealousy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?<<

Perhaps Paul in that final verse is referring to the rapture of the bride congregation! That bride congregation includes those chosen for salvation from Israel and all nations.

What does verse Isaiah 8:16 teach us today?

It reads like this, referring to Adonai Yeshua and his disciples already in the Law Covenant era:

A) CJB
>>
Wrap up this document, and confine its teaching to those I have instructed.<<
B) Peshitta (G. Lamsa) >>Bind up the testimony, seal the law,<<
C) NET >>
Tie up the scroll as legal evidence, seal the official record of Elohim's instructions and give it to my followers.<< I suppose that this translation is correct.

Let's first read what Adonai Yeshua taught about the Law of Moses and the teaching he brought us from heaven regarding it and how they are related to each other:

1)
>>For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Yeshua HaMashiach.<< John 1:17

2)
>>So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.<< Matt. 5:19

- Here Adonai Yeshua refers to
the commandments of the Law of Moses. Anyone who teaches to break any of the commandments of the Law of Moses is a teacher of lies! Those who believe in him will become 'people of lawlessness, children of perdition'!

3)
>>35 And one of them, an expert in religious law, asked him a question to test him: 36 "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" 37 Yeshua said to him, "'Love the YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

39 The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."<<
 Matt. 22:35-40

In summary of points 1), 2) and 3) it can be stated that all Israelites and all Gentiles who believe in Yeshua are obligated to walk according to the statutes of the Law of Moses, for it is not permissible for us to willfully break its original four first commandments, which call us to respect and love our Creator. After all, it is clear that we must not keep any idols beside Him!

It is also not permissible to break the last six commandments of the original Mosaic Law, which tell us to respect and love our neighbors. After all, it is clear that we must not murder our neighbors!
- - -
- The fact that "The Law of Moses is sealed with a seal to the disciples of Adonai Yeshua" suggests that we should keep the Law holy and only with good intentions and as if it were a shepherd's rod that leads the sheep to a safe pasture, setting up for us the boundary fences of the pasture, within which the wolves ravage are gone.
- - -
- This clearly only applies to Adonai Yeshua's disciples, and they are all those to whom he refers in the verses of the attached image, Joh. 8:31-36 and additionally in the verses of Matt. 7:24-25.

- The sealing in question indicates that these are the chosen ones of the Most High and honor Him by considering the Law of Moses as a holy and important guide to life just as Adonai Yeshua teaches us in verses Matt. 5:17-20

- For those brought up in the Jewish faith, it means following the Law of Moses to the extent that it is possible today, when Solomon's temple is still in ruins. But not because even they, by following the Law, could earn salvation for their souls. But only because, through it, the Israeli declares itself as a disciple of Adonai Yeshua also during the New Covenant. This is how the apostle Peter instructed the Jews of his time, regarding the instructions to be given to converts from paganism: Acts 15:10-11

>>
10 So now why are you putting Elohim to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? 11 On the contrary, we believe that we are saved through the grace of Adonai Yeshua, in the same way as they are.<<

- It is important to note that the descendants of Adam and Eve chosen for the heavenly New Jerusalem are also spiritually built on the foundation of prophets (such as Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.) and apostles, with Yeshua HaMashiach himself as the cornerstone!
- - -
- For all believers in Yeshua of pagan background, it only means the four prohibitions referred to in the verses Acts 15:28-29 and which was decided by the Council of the Early Congregation of Jerusalem with the guidance of the Holy Spirit:

>>
28 For it seemed best to the Holy Spirit and to us not to place any greater burden on you than these necessary rules: 29 that you abstain from meat that has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what has been strangled and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from doing these things, you will do well. Farewell.<<

- In my opinion, that decision of the Parish Council is fair and very well justified, because it takes into account the poorer starting points of those with a gentile background compared to those raised in the Jewish faith all their lives, who have been taught the Tanakh and its regulations already in their mother's milk.

However, it is only the beginning of sanctification and in the NT there are hundreds of different exhortations through which all followers of Adonai Yeshua are guided to righteousness and complete sanctification with help of the Holy Spirit, at the end of which eternal life awaits us, as verse Rom. 6:22 says:

>>
But now, freed from sin and enslaved to Elohim, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.<<

Although we are slaves to Father Elohim, we are also Adonai Yeshua's friends and co-workers in his vineyard if we obey him!

The Most High rules over all nations!

So He rules also over Russia, N-Korea, China, Iran, USA, EU, etc.! That's why we believers in Adonai Yeshua have no reason to be afraid of the difficult times that are already facing part of the world and in the future all nations. Let's not fear WW3 either. It will come in time, but even through it, our Creator will protect and carry his chosen ones from all nations alive! As we look forward to all that lies ahead, let us spread the message of grace, love and salvation from our Savior HaMashiach Yeshua to all nations!
