Reflections on Shabat, 5th April 2024

We notice throughout the Bible that children are just in the
special keeping of our Creator and they all have their own and
a special guardian angel who always sees the face of YHWH.

However, this week in Finland, there was a very serious shooting incident in the 6th grade at the primary school in the town of Vantaa. In it, a 12-year-old boy who was bullied at school shot dead his classmate, a 12-year-old boy, with a handgun and very seriously wounded two girls of the same age who are in intensive care!

What led to that tragedy?

The investigation of the case is still ongoing, but the case is truly exceptional in this country that has been voted the happiest in the world for the seventh time. The shooter's family is responsible for their son's access to a handgun. Also, the fact that the school's teachers and principal did not take into account the fact that the boy who moved to the school about 11 weeks ago was being bullied and did not take the necessary measures was a really serious negligence on their part.

In addition, teachers in Finland have been losing the authority given by law to maintain discipline in their classes year by year. Instead, in cases of serious disturbances, they have to call the police. This should not be the case, teachers should have absolute authority over all students in their classes!

In elementary schools, the confessional teaching of Christianity is prohibited by law, and it has been replaced by an outlook on life, in which all major religions are considered similar and equal. So, according to Finnish law, Islam is also equal to traditional Christianity. Now our people get to eat the bitter fruits of our stupid legislation and the tragedies are unlikely to end here, unfortunately!

It should be mentioned that school bullying is not a new phenomenon in Finland, but I was also bullied at school at the age of 12 already in 1961, when our family moved from Lohja to the small church village of Siunti and I started attending a Finnish-language public school there. For the first 2 weeks I was punched every day and barked at because of my Swedish name. The abuse only stopped when my older sister demanded the strongest student in the upper class to defend me. Before that I used to be afraid to go to school and had nightmares many times.

Of course, there have been shootings in Finnish schools before, but the perpetrators were clearly teenagers or young adults older than this child. In the online archive, I found three cases in which a total of 22 people had died and several had been injured.

The school shooting that claimed the most victims happened on September 23, 2008 in town Kauhajoki, where a 22-year-old man shot 10 people and himself. So a total of 11 were killed.

In all cases, the motive had been that the perpetrator had been bullied and most of them had sought help for their mental health problems before the tragedy. All the perpetrators of the crimes were male.

How could the tragedy have been prevented?

Legislation should not have been skewed as it is today regarding the authority of teachers to maintain discipline in their classes, and the confessional teaching of Christianity should not have been changed, bringing it to the level of the heresies of the whole world.

In recent years, there has been a clear deterioration in the mental health of children in Finland, and a record number of psychiatric drugs are being prescribed to the very young. The reason for this is the climate hysteria and the horrors of war, which are being fomented day and night, of which the most horrible pictures and videos are shown every day, which children watch with curiosity and are horrified. Under no circumstances should children be told about them!

The children's parents should have brought up their children in the discipline and discipline of Adonai and asked their children if everything is going well at school. If the boy and his parents had a loving relationship, they would have been aware of their son's difficulties at school. Because in Finland, children are currently required by law to attend school for 9 years (in practice 10 years) and after that postgraduate studies are voluntary. Without postgraduate studies, it is still difficult to get any job in Finland.

What can we who believe in Yeshua do?

The most important thing is to pray for wisdom and courage for our decision-makers and that the best people are elected to the board! The children's parents should also be prayed for wisdom and spiritual backbone so that they would truly bear their own responsibility to correct the distorted state of our nation today.

The greatest need of all children is to experience love, safety, social care, such as access to food and healthcare. They should also be told that their Creator, Yeshua HaMashiach, loves them like a Good Shepherd!

In addition, we must influence through writings, speeches and all means of social media so that our 'ship Finland, which is on a collision course with an iceberg like Titanic', is steered to the right course, away from a dangerous route. The same measures are also generally needed in other western countries, where the so-called democracy has eroded public security.

We believers know from the teachings of the NT that in the last days there will be difficult times, because lawlessness will gain power, meaning that the holy decrees of the Bible, also for maintaining discipline, will be abandoned as ancient relics. We are currently living in exactly that time! That's why we should stand up each in the 'hole in the wall' that is our responsibility!
